Officers discovered the female was in the area with her uncle and was seated in her car, prepared to depart, throughout the inquiry.
The suspect, the female’s ex-boyfriend, approached her and aimed a gun at her stomach. When the female’s uncle attempted to interfere, the suspect fired at him and missed.
The guy then aimed the weapon toward the female and shot her twice in the arm and upper body. The three then started fighting in the street until cops arrived and separated them.”
Within seconds of the call, an officer who was serving a ticket about a block away reacted and reported the altercation as he arrived, attempting to separate the parties while backup units arrived.
The female victim, 41, was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The 56-year-old male victim was treated at the scene for injuries received during the struggle.
A loaded firearm was discovered at the site and is believed to be the weapon used by the suspect.
