Corrections officer charged with molesting child under 12, JSO says

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. A Jacksonville Sheriffs Office corrections officer who was the focus of a joint investigation between the FBI and JSOs Integrity and Special Investigations Unit, has been charged with molesting a young child.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office corrections officer who was once the focal point of a joint investigation between the FBI and JSO’s Integrity and Special Investigations Unit, has been charged with molesting a tender child.

Corrections Officer Zachary S. Kovach shall be fired after being charged with one depend of lewd & lascivious molestation and one rely of unlawful use of a two-way communique instrument, Undersheriff Nick Burgos announced Wednesday. Both fees are felonies.

Burgos mentioned the molestation price involves a sufferer more youthful than 12 years outdated.

Burgos mentioned Kovach has been “totally vested” with JSO since February 2021.
