Ex-Chicago Police Sergeant Ronald Watts: 88 seek to have drug convictions tied to corrupt CPD sergea

CHICAGO (WLS) — A listening to shall be held for 88 people who say they were framed via former Chicago Police Sergeant Ronald Watts.

They are tough their drug convictions be thrown out and the state’s legal professional is anticipated to say that some of the convictions should be disregarded.

Watts and one among his crew members, Kallatt Mohammed, went to prison in 2013 for their police corruption. Many of the other group members remain at the police force.

In March, COPA introduced that it had finished its first investigation pertaining to the watts workforce officers who remain on the police drive. However, the town continues to withhold the report from the public.

To date, 110 convictions tied to Watts and his crew have been brushed aside. Watts was sentenced to 22 months; Mohammed used to be sentenced to 18 months.

Attorneys from the Exoneration Project and others are petitioning so their shoppers can move on with their lives with out the stain of a bogus conviction on their document.

Meanwhile, there may be an ongoing CPD inside investigation in others officials related to Watts who are nonetheless at the force.
