JAMAICA, Queens — Twenty-five years ago this Saturday, TWA Flight 800 exploded simply mins after takeoff from New York’s Kennedy Airport.
Some 230 lives have been lost over the Atlantic Ocean off Long Island, and for the families of the victims, the Ramada Plaza JFK (*25*) changed into the point of interest in their ache, grief and depression as they awaited word on their loved ones.
It turned into widely known as the Heartbreak (*25*).
WABC-TV Channel 7 Eyewitness News reporter Josh Einiger visits the haunting, deserted time capsule of sorrow with relations, together with a Texas man, Joe Lychner, who publicly lived a personal hell, shedding his spouse and two daughters, earlier than discovering his power and starting to fight.
Josh also returned to the hotel smash with Heidi Snow Cinader, who lost her fiancé onboard Flight 800. She converted her tragedy into a calling to lend a hand others live to tell the tale grief.
The gripping docuseries from WABC-TV, “Heartbreak (*25*): Flight 800, 25 Years Later,” can also be noticed in three portions in the video participant above.
