ARVADA, Colo. — Crews from the Arvada Fire Protection District are responding to a 5 small fires burning off Highway 72, and a few properties were evacuated as a precaution.

Multiple crops spot fires were first reported via government round 2:30 p.m. Wednesday near the train tracks alongside Highway Seventy two west of Indiana Street, the fire department stated. The fires are moving slowly.

With the assistance of the Arvada Police Department “a few” properties have been evacuated as a precaution, Arvada Fire stated.

In total, five fires are smoldering or burning. They are estimated at 15 acres, Arvada Fire stated.
