Astrid Maria Secreve, a co-defendant of the mischief case with her ex-husband Michel Jean-Jacque Berthiaume, was once heading to a courthouse in Richmond, Canada, when she used to be approached via a CTV News workforce that reportedly integrated a camera operator of Asian descent.
In a video of the incident, Secreve can also be seen extending her hand towards the facet of the digicam, prompting a voice from at the back of the apparatus to say “Don’t touch me.”

Vancouver made headlines last 12 months after being dubbed the “Anti-Asian Hate Crime Capital of North America.” The city saw a 717% building up in anti-Asian hate crimes from 2019 to 2020, upper than cases reported in 10 of essentially the most populous U.S. cities combined in 2020.
